PLUM CAKE is very close to the heart of each and every ‘Malayali’ particularly on the occasion of Christmas and New Year. It is not clear how it came to be called the plum cake. Some believe that raisins that are also referred to as plums in England gave this beautiful name! What makes it so special is the presence of almost all famous spices of the state – Cardamom, Cinnamon, Clove, Fennel, Cumin, Nutmeg and Cashew nuts. In Hot Cakes, we choose fine quality green and golden fleshy raisins (imported as well as domestic) with mixed taste of sweet & sour – each lot selected individually , wheat flour, candied fruits, ginger and orange peel, ghee, sunflower oil, egg, sugar and honey.

Fruits are handpicked, washed, dehydrated and then stewed in a traditional varp (large bell metal stewing vessel), caramelized under the supervision of a master, and then spices added in right proportion, soaked in wine and then kept for ageing. Plum cake making has two processes, firstly fruits are prepared and aged; then mixing, dividing, baking, packing, preserving until it reaches the taste buds…

The making of the cake is not a secret, it’s known to every artisan and videos are plenty in YouTube. Then how come most of the plum cakes in the market are just ordinary and very few cake makers stand out in taste, smoothness, richness, moisture and aroma…

Orders are dispatched within 24 hours of receipt of the order in he normal course.

The estimated delivery timeline is a) Metro cities: 3-5 working days & b) Non-metro cities: 6-8 business days.

Rest assured, all products are packed well and have long shelf life so you will have sufficient shelf life to enjoy your order when it is received.

For COD orders, the shipping timeline starts once the customer reconfirms their order on whatsapp/email/call.

In case we foresee a delay beyond the indicated delivery timeline, we will keep you informed on email. Please note that the orders are not dispatched on Saturday, Sunday, and on public holidays.

Cash On Delivery

We currently offer Cash on Delivery facility for most pin codes. Basis the pin code entered in the address field, the system will display the availability of COD option at Checkout. Please note that COD facility is chargeable. The COD charge does not change with the order value and it is a flat constant charge.

If you’d like to save on the COD charge, we advise you to complete the payment using UPI/ Paytm / Debit cards/ Credit card/ Netbanking.
